Girls Incorporated of Huntsville is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c) 3 corporation, an affiliate of the Girls Inc. National Organization. Since 1972, we have been meeting the unique needs of girls year-round in a safe, nurturing environment. Our mission is to inspire ALL girls to be Strong, Smart, and Boldsm. Our vision is to be recognized as North Alabama's leading advocates for helping girls to succeed in a competitive world.
Our goals are to help girls:
- Achieve Academic Success
- Improve their self-esteem
- Plan for their futures
- Become economically independent women
- Explore careers in science, math, and technology
- Develop skills to avoid risky behaviors related to alcohol/substance abuse and teenage pregnancy
During 2007, Girls Inc. served close to 1,000 girls through direct-services, outreach initiatives and advocacy efforts in Madison County. In 2006, Girls Inc. of Huntsville was awarded Affiliate of the Year.
